My Heart

To the one who holds my heart

Hold it gently, hold it with care

Hold it as you would a delicate flower

One so precious, one so rare

My heart is your to cherish

Keep it as long as you desire

It is but a symbol of my love

Just as passion is likened to fire

I only ask that you protect my heart

Protect it from hurt and sorrow

Remind it of kindness and joy

And of the untold wonders of tomorrow

To the one who holds my heart

Hold it gently, hold it with care

For as long as you hold my heart

My life, with you, I’ll always share

Build Me

Build me out of memories of childhood
Build me out of feelings of loss and grief
When I’m torn and broken, build me stronger
My emotional heart beats no longer

Let me go on living with reason
Let me go on without true feeling
When I’m irrational and sad, let me be
My empty heart knows little of comfort, you see

Tell me it’s going to be alright
Tell me it’s a pattern of some kind
When I wake up I’ll be fine, be silent
My broken heart knows how to be violent

Tearing me apart until I don’t know myself
Tearing me apart for who I used to be
When old memories trigger, try to set me free
But my heart is locked away and no one has the key

Loss

I want to say that I miss you, but I can’t
It’s hard to grieve when everyone else wants to forget
They want to toss you to the flames and ashes
Turn a blind eye while my world crashes

My heart aches every time they curse your name
Teasing what they should do with you as if it is a game
You were never perfect and you never had been
Although, if I speak of you now, it's as if I speak of a sin

You never learned how to say the final goodbye
You never thought of the day you would die
I wasn’t there and it kills me to this day
Although I still don’t know what I would say

They say I wouldn’t have wanted to be there
That it was something I wouldn’t be able to bare
I left the tears on my face that Friday night
Because tears aren’t as evident in the moonlight

Tears (Every Day I Cry)

I never asked you your favorite color
I don’t know why that makes me cry
I keep wondering what else I never knew
But all I know now is I miss you

I can’t forget the last time I saw you
The last time you gave me a hug goodbye
Remembering back to all the years
Water washes away the tears

I’m walking down the path of life
Playing a game no one can win
I can’t take the next step on this road
My feet have gone numb from the cold

I see the world in a different light
Dimmer, as if it were a constant cloudy day
Everyday living a little white lie
Every day I cry

I want to remember the good times
I want to relive them over and over
What I would give to have you here
Water washes away the tears

I guess you’ll have to listen from now on
You always did that best anyways
It’s been so hard to say goodbye
Every day I cry

Starry Night

night starry
I have but one wish
On this starry night
Although the sun has set
The sky remains as bright

The milky way is to the left
The trees sway in still breeze
My one wish tonight
Is for all time to freeze

Senses

Image result for red rose in the snowWords on the page tell stories of things known
Pictures on the wall remain still stories shown
Leaves on the ground from trees blown
A rose bud on the pale snow fresh grown

Talk from strangers spoken in new words
Melodies of autumn breeze crooned by songbirds
Wild horses running across the land in herds
A lone pianist playing eerie minor thirds

Waves crash on waves and sandy shores
Tears fall on bodies as consequence of wars
Hurricanes and storms bring endless downpours
A young child watching television indoors

Image result for pianist black and whiteFresh snow falls in the early weeks of November
Fires crackle until the last glowing ember
Drinking to forget what we regretfully remember
A hollow night precedes the first day of December

Artists draw people set in a still frame
People so easily ready to set blame
Words burn hotter than a white flame
A homeless man lives only by name

See, for the world is not black and white
Listen, for the world is not a silent night
Feel, for the world is not something to spite
Live, for the world is not to take for a right

Corpse Bride

Image result for corpse bride piano(Inspired by the Corpse Bride Movie)

She came to the wood
Face sheltered from the wind
Feet following a blind path
She came to the wood
     Even though she should
Leave, for it was no good
     Wondering in the wood
                                                    Cold.
Through her the wind blows
She shivers in her mind
While her body remains untouched
Through her the wind blows
Taking her with is as it goes
     Whirling her white hair, shows
Her frail, pale white skin glows
                                                    Alone.
The time stands still
Her body remains motionless
The silent clock goes tick-tock
The time stands still
     Silent screams send a chill
     Down her spine until
     Her heart becomes still
                                                    Silent.
In a sea of white she stays
Kissing the snow, lips red
Unchanging, time continues
In a sea of white she stays
Under a snow blanket she lays
     Watching with fixed gaze
     With herself, she stays
                                                    Waiting.
